Myriska, the goddess of the Tayhauke, is actually the unification of two characters. A 'matched pair', Hau'ke has watched over her in every one of her lifetimes. In the first of her lives she was known as Myri'uen, Hau'ke's little sister. In the last of her lives she was know as Sarska, a 'nonworking' member of the Following of Hau'ke.
One of her defining features is the fact that she wears the garb of the Tayhauke, instead of the garments that a woman should don. Another feature that sets her apart is the fact that, unlike her fellow gods and goddesses, she is in truth the daughter of The Goddess. This, of course, allows her a few leniencies. Of which she makes use of quite frequently. She is a sly, manipulative character that refuses to allow anyone, or anything, mess with her plans.
Hau'ke, though he dotes upon her hand and foot, is quite aware of her spoiled antics. The epitome of the Tayhauke, he keeps her in check without openly correcting her. Most of the time she is unaware that he has done so. Both think that they've got the wool pulled over the other's eyes.
The two green and yellow birds on the sleeves of her top robe are her Children, Peitoh and Keatii. A god's Children is a species that they create to ensure their survival. Should a god be 'forgotten', they disappear. In other words, they die off.
Note:
I didn't notice until after inking and coloring this one, but either the left sleeve is too long or the right sleeve is too short. Very, very irritating from my point of view.
Yep! You're either going to really love her or really hate her. She's very similar to Iolani, who by the way, should not be left in a room alone with her. Or, perhaps, it should the other way around. Either way, without supervision they would definitely tie into it... and I'm not really certain who would come out on top.
...So Sarska is Myriska was Myri'uen? So THAT'S why you had that long "Hau'ke before he was a god" bit!
Well, let's just say that he's the reincarnation of someone very important from her first 'life'.
And, obviously, it's -not- Hau'ke.
Here's a hint:
Once the Council got her and Hau'ke married, what would be the next thing they'd start hollerin' for?
